I don’t know where to begin with this couple and their gorgeous Destrehan Plantation wedding. I met Jennifer & Tom when their friends Sarah and Tullier (my absolute favorite photographer) referred them to me because they were to be guests at their wedding. Zero pressure (insert eye roll). Jennifer and Tom are impossible not to love the second you meet them. They are sweet, hilarious, fun-loving, gracious, and crazy outspoken football rivals. It seems obvious that they would meet under college football strife and end up falling in love.
Destrehan Plantation is everything a Louisiana wedding photographer could want in a venue: history, charm, beauty, and live oaks almost as large as the plantation itself. Tom was adamant about not doing a first look. However, I was desperate to get photos of the two of them in the daylight. Our compromise was something I’d never done before. I asked Tom if he would let me pose him with his eyes closed. Since Jennifer and Tom are Deaf, and we temporarily took Tom’s sight, he could only feel his bride and anticipate the ceremony to come. It was more beautiful and moving than I could have hoped for.
Thank you both so much for your trust and letting me be a part of this perfect day. How I wish I could do it all over again!

There was a true feeling of Love in the air that I’m sure everyone felt especially when The Groom saw his Stuning Bride walking the path to him as tears flowed from his eyes! Oh my goodness YES Virginia! You said it perfectly. The feeling of love, family, and friendship was so strong that day. And the gorgeous venue just added to the perfect day. :) The moment Tom saw his bride for the first time, I almost lost it. I think this is the first wedding where I have more photos of the groom during the processional than the bride. Haha! It’s because I wanted her to remember the look on his face forever. Ack! I still tear up thinking about it. Thank you so very much for all these sweet words. I am so happy I got to shoot the photos that will forever remind them of what a glorious day this was!
